Tip 1 Nutrition
When talking about losing weight and being fit and tone, nutrition is a huge part of the equation and has a dramatic impact on your health and appearance. You can workout 7days/wk for hours on end, but if you are eating junk you will struggle with losing weight.
Nutrition is a subject many spend their careers studying and is often times made too complex. My main objective it to give you the ingredients, that if applied consistently, will teach your body to burn fat rather than store it.
You don’t need to overcomplicate this. It’s really quite simple.
First, small frequent meals (every 3 hours or so) will drastically increase your metabolism and help you burn body fat and lose weight. This is something lean people such as athletes, models and fitness competitors have known for years and they all abide by the rule of eating small frequent meals throughout the day - and so should you.
Eating breakfast - Your Mom was right when she told you this is the most important meal of the day. When we sleep at night are metabolism slows down and the best way to get it revved up and start a new day off on the right foot is to eat breakfast. For those of you that are not hungry in the morning, this is a sign of a slow metabolism and you need to reprogram it.
Here’s how to go about it. Start Your Day off with a medium sized meal that consists of both protein (such as eggs) and a carbohydrate (like oatmeal). You will then want to note the time, continue to eat small meals every 3 hours or so. The time is important, as it is likely for the first week you won’t be hungry every 3hours, eat anyway. This is an important step to reprogram and kick start your metabolism. Typically within 7-10 days of following this schedule of small frequent meals you should start to get hungry. This is a great sign that your metabolism is getting fired up and you are on your way to lasting weight loss.
What should you eat?
Here I’m going to give you general guidelines that have helped with weight loss of hundreds of Crystal Lake residents. There are 3 basic nutrients that we will look at for your Weight loss program. These are Protein, Carbohydrates and Fat. All three are very important; however in my experience working with hundreds of Crystal Lake weight loss clients, the best way to get all 3 nutrients and to lose weight fast is to combine your meals in the following fashion.
- Protein and Carbohydrates (cottage cheese and fruit, chicken and sweet potato are a couple examples)
- Protein and Fat (cottage cheese and walnuts, salmon and vegetables)
- Avoid high Carbohydrate and High fat together (bread and olive oil, peanut butter and jelly, most Mexican food, pizza, bagel and cream cheese, etc., etc., etc.,)
Tip 2 Cardiovascular Training
Cardiovascular training is another important factor in long term weight loss success for Crystal Lake residents. Cardio training is used to burn calories, speed up your metabolism, and improves one’s health and condition.
There are two main types of cardio training, steady state and interval training. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Overall, most Crystal Lake Weight loss is accomplished the fastest with Interval training. This type of training is where your push yourself hard for 20seconds up-to 2minutes then recover and repeat. Resistance training is one of the major keys to a successful weight loss program. Resistance training elevates your metabolism for hours and hours after a workout.
Weight training is responsible for those lean, toned and sculpted bodies you see many actors and athletes sport. When it comes to weight loss each pound of muscle we can build burns an additional 50 calories a day and takes up much less space than the same amount of fat. So if we lost 1pound of fat and gained 1lb of muscle we would not only burn more calories throughout the day we would also appear to be smaller

Throughout my life, I had longed to have the body that my friends had. I wanted to be thin, but I didn't do anything about it. Instead, I was depressed because I was overweight, which lead me to food as my comfort and only perpetuated my problem.
